The English Way
The Camino de Santiago originated between 820 and 830 AD after the discovery of the tomb of St. James, confirming the religious history of the region and giving rise to the first pilgrims, from humble people to King Alfonso II of Asturias, considered the first pilgrim.
An outstanding historical route is the English Way, used by pilgrims from Nordic countries and England, which involves travelling by boat to the ports of A Coruña or Ferrol and then starting the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
The cottages, located near the fourth stretch of the English Way, about 15 km from Betanzos, are on the stage from Betanzos to Hospital de Bruma (28.3 km), with proximity to La Ruta dos Amilladoiros, which includes points of interest such as the chapel and fountain of San Paio de Vilacova, as well as activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, mushroom picking and hiking.
